When I Don't Desire God: How to Fight For Joy
By John Piper
see related

The impact of time aside each day for prayer

We must ask God "without ceasing" that our eyes be open to the insufficiency of worldly pleasures, even the innocent ones. And we must plead that the taste buds of our souls be ever alive to the beauty of Christ.

"Your love is better than life, O Lord, SO much better than life...."

Amen.

Jesus couldn't make me any happier and with this I am content. Completely.

Ever realized how much there really is to pray for?

You talk with someone and they don't even ask for prayer but you know they need it. Oh, they so need it. You can just see it in their eyes, hear it when they answer your questions about their life, sense it in their tone of voice, and feel it when they bid you gbye.

I was just reading scripture and contemplating many things....

Ps. 147:2-6 - The LORD builds up Jerusalem; He gathers together the outcasts of Israel. He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. He counts the number of the stars; He calls them all by name. Great is our Lord, and mighty in power; His understanding is infinite. The LORD lifts up the humble; He casts the wicked down to the ground.

What an excellent verse to minister to people struggling w/ a variety! For outcasts for whatever reason, the brokenhearted, those who don't think God cares or knows what's going on in the world, ones who feel as if nobody understands whatever they're going through, people who feel as if the evil one is triumphing.....
